Alcohol ban for upcoming July elections?
Alcohol ban for upcoming July elections?
Hello I am aware that in previous years, the Cambodian government forbid the sale of alcohol close to the national elections. Will this year be the same? Is there also a ban on noise during this time? Officially the date of the election is the 29th but maybe they ban alcohol a day prior and a day after can someone shed some insight on this matter? Also where might roads be blocked? Thanks
Re: Alcohol ban for upcoming July elections?
Most likely, will probably be announced about a week prior.
Doesn't have a big impact though, restaurants can still serve booze, and most of the local mom n pip stores will still sell it to you.

At the moment we’ve been told we can’t serve alcohol on the 28th and 29th in our bars. But based on past experience that can change right up until actual election day.PSD-Kiwi wrote:Most likely, will probably be announced about a week prior.
