Aeon Mall 2 in Phnom Penh: Thug experience

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Did you ask the girls for id before snapping their photo? You are the one who said they were 18. (i.e. teenagers).
I've already explained what happened. Do you have problems reading posts?

They looked about 18 but regardless there's nothing wrong or immoral about taking photos of girls who made it clear they were happy to be photographed and there was nothing seedy about the photo whatsoever, in fact I showed security who had nothing to say about it. Are you doubting the opinions of security?

Like I said numerous times these were just photos of the Mall and nothing more.

I don’t think you did any wrong with taking some random pics there, but the ‘Are you doubting the opinions of the (khmer) security’ , i would indeed, many have been spotted having a nap while on duty!?!
I actually don't give a flying fuck, furthermore nice to meet you all here! :thumb:

Lol.. it would indeed be strange if that was my only interest, however you forget that I was there taking general photos of the Mall because it's a brand new Mall and has only been open like 2 days. I only took that photo as I was passing by and it was just a photo of 2 girls that were having a good time posing for their friends and then me..so nothing really strange about that. I mean I didnt ask them to pose for me they did that automatically. In fact it's so benign you'd wonder how 2 blokes could see that it was in any possible way offensive or creepy.
give up the fight here>you cant win an ur ONLY mistake was mentioning it here :beer3:

i take photos all over, old people, young people, kids, monks, cops, couples, groups etc etc,
outdoors, indoors, never been hassled.
if some do gooders approached me, i'd tell them to fuck off..
FYI:
in a public place no one can expect any rights to privacy ( at least everywhere i have been) an u did fuck all wrong ,contrary to what others here want to make out u did..
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Thank you PR.

You summed it up pretty nicely and I won't waste any more of my precious time justifying myself to the stirrers who obviously enjoy trolling people who've had a shitty experience.

The whole point of my post was I suppose to warn people that there are these sad do-gooder types who's actions/ behaviour is often both wrong and misguided.

I've read about it happening to others, and was also unfortunate to have dealt with it yesterday (at the otherwise rather awesome new mall).

To be fair, you did say the Khmer security were useless and now you’re asking us to take what they say as spot on?

So what is it, the suck or they can be trusted?

Understatement here, or I misunderstood, also a possibility. ‘Sad do-gooder types’??? Drunk africans with white coke or ice rings on their nose??? Perhaps they are bakermen or are selling pizzas at Aeon2, and it was just some flour...

maybe some proprietary interest in the girls.
perhaps they were models and the blokes are their managers or similar.
maybe missionaries.
