Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. ABC Bakery

Post by Duncan »

I have often enjoyed the fresh bread rolls that have the shredded pork in the center from the ABC Bakery, but since they have moved from their location on st 13 near the Kandel market to a new place somewhere near Camlette hospital I am struggling to find a substitute roll .
I guess it had something to do with rents or leases, but why would they leave a location where they have built up a steady client and customer base and start in a new area from scratch.

Anyway it's about time we had a new bakery that knows how to bake a multi grain bread that is price competitive to what is available overseas,,, infact taking into account salaries , taxes and other expenses , bread should be cheaper than other countries.

Lets not talk about pies.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

About two weeks ago I guess. I know quite a few businesses that have decided not to renew their lease. The new prices asked are pretty steep, and I think quite often not on par with the location / people passing by / buying power of the people passing by. Some businesses apparently agree with me and quit, or moved. It's sad ABC left that location, they had decent bread at an easily accessible location.

Yeah I gotta agree really, a lot of landlords shoot themselves in the foot because they here so and so two blocks down is getting $$$$ rent so they think they get the same. I remember speaking to a real estate guy who had just sold an apartment for around $120,000 near riverside. the owner had remodelled it beautifully all high end stuff maximized the space. Couple downstairs got wind of this asked to flog theirs he told them it was worth about $40k they wouldn't accept that and that their shoddy dingy old style apartment last decorated when the Khmer Rouge were in town could not be worth the same as the neighbors. He took them upstairs to show them the difference and they still didnt get it and wouldnt sell for less than $120k....probably still for sale two years on.

Yes parts of this town are just gonna either become vacant lots or filled by big companies that can sustain the loss for a position in the market (e.g. starbucks, KFC etc)

That location was a hell of a place for flooding in the rainy season.

ABC Bakeries are a chain! Yes? How many shops do they have?
Always "hope" but never "expect".
