"Wife screwed me over" sale, Kampot. Fridge, washer ($350 for both), many $5 things, tools, shelves, etc.

This is where you can buy and sell anything you want in Cambodia! There is no 'Craigslist Cambodia,' so this is the next best thing. Most items for sale are in Phnom Penh, but this is a buy and sell section for the whole country. Many expats and tourists have new and used items to sell, so anyone can list them here. CEO has no part in these sales, so buyers and sellers need to get in contact with each other themselves. You're always welcome to list items you're giving away for free, as we encourage the community to give when they can. Amazon and eBay ship select items to Cambodia, but you save time and money when you do things locally.

Hey all,

Like a typical country song, she got the houses, the car, the cash...basically everything that wasn't bolted to the floor I could carry as the door hit me on the way out.

Tried to post on Kampot noticeboard but mods wouldn't let me on so...here we go. $5 things at the bottom.

Contact info here in linked ad: (I don't want to post my phone number on the forum)

Samsung fridge ($200 or make offer), paid $280 5 months ago, still has warranty for another 7 months.

Toshiba washer ($200 or make offer), also paid $280 5 months ago, warranty 7 more months.

Buy BOTH washer and fridge for $350, or make offer.

Transcend 1 TB external HD. Think I paid $70?, price $20 (data is wiped but formatted for Linux, so you have to format it for your operating system)

Clothes Iron, still looks new, used a few times and put back in box. Has 7 months remaining warranty, $10

Table and chair set, paid $50, asking $20 for both.

$5 stuff except 1 thing. Or $30, you can have it all.

Socket and ratchet set (ugly but "good" quality $25 originally, missing the 8mm) $5

Impact screwdriver (normally around $12-14, asking for $5

Multimeter, all settings work, no cracks, good condition. $5

Punch set...whatever, paid $30. $5

Rotary dremel tool, originally $35 after bits and stuff bought for it. Power cord a little wonky at the base, still works fine, asking $10

Misc original Toyota WS fluid (bought for my car the wife took, lol). Paid $17...just offer whatever.

Cootel modem, bought new from company for $30, haven't used in a while so unsure of how sign up or whatever works nowadays, $5.

2 plastic shelves, paid $7.50 each, selling BOTH for $5 or $2.5 each. No cracks, still okay.

Laundry stainless 2 pole rack w/wheels. Paid $17, it's pretty crappy in all honesty, asking $5.

Frying pan, brand new never used. Doesn't work on electric range, so I can't use it. $5.

Also have other misc like a Macbook Air charger...$5, whatever.

Thanks, am going to need it.

Tried playing the country song backwards, but the house didn't come back, the truck didn't come back, and neither did the dog... :(

None of my business, but by removing all the furniture from your house, you may be hastening your ex into a decision to sell the place. And you seem to be giving up before the battle has begun. In point of fact, since you lived with her for several years in common law marriage, you possess certain natural rights that can be invoked in a court of law.

Example: a few years ago a Nordic gent, 70ish, rushed into marriage with a 20ish thing in Sihanoukville. After two years she decided to dump him. Then, of course, she hurried to sell the house he had built especially for her, along with a big truck -- both in her name, of course. Not missing a beat, the enraged old gent promptly hired the best lawyer he could find and got an injunction temporarily halting any sale, pending a civil suit. Of course, in court, things didn't look good for the angry old man, since the judge politely pointed out that there wasn't much he could do to stop the woman selling the property, since everything was in her name. However, the man's lawyer negotiated and finally the judge proposed that he might be satisfied with 50% of the sale value. Well, not having any choice, he accepted. The woman also accepted, since it was all too obvious that she had set the old man up to take him for a ride, given that she was so impatient to dump and run after only two years of "marriage"...

Because you had lived together in common law union for over ten years, I suggest you file a similar suit. Any competent court should easily rule in your favor, and award you at least half the return on the sale of your property, the sale of which you can force by means of the civil suit itself...

Anyway, maybe you are already trying this. Best of luck...

I appreciate it, but I've been fighting for financial survival and have no monetary means to do anything. She's already kicked me out, has control of everything, there's literally nothing I can do. I'm trying to find a place to live, I'm behind on rent, my passport is expiring, my IDs have all expired...I'm really fucked if I don't unload everything and get some food and a place to stay.

Sorry, but just by nature of my situation I've been perfectly screwed over and left out in the cold...or hot in the case of Cambodia.

Sorry to hear of your predicament, SJ. What's the plan? Are you going back to Canada to re-load? Does Canada repatriate its citizens?

I'm sure there's a way, but I have nowhere to stay once I get there. No more family either alive or that will talk to me.

Honestly, I'd rather try to make it work over here (I've been here a very long time, even longer than Canada to be honest), but with overstay fines piling up, no way to renew my passport (because no money), nowhere to work because no visa, I don't know what to do. Can't go, can't stay...completely stuck.

I've been searching for gigs for the past 5 or 6 months, and all I've turned up is NGOs wanting me to work for $50 a month for a 6 day a week job... I don't know. I feel like I'm worth more than that, I mean come on. I know I'm poor and probably a fuck up or something at life, but...you know, I'm more than happy to work for someone here for my rent. I'll show up on time, I'll do my duty, I don't smoke, drink or party...I can cook, wash dishes, clean the premises...you know.

I don't know. I just don't know at this point. Sorry for the rant, I'm just at a loss at this point.

If anyone is willing to reach out here in Kampot with a room, I like to keep clean, I like to wipe windows, I can repair machinery, I am a decent cook and learn quickly new dishes, I can wash dishes...I even can do errands.

I'd perhaps get in touch with your embassy and find out if there's any help or assistance available to you at all - there might be something they can do. I had to call on the Australian embassy once unexpectedly not thinking they'd do anything for me at all. To my surprise they gave me enough money to get me through.

Best of luck with things, I hope it works out.

sad times, but even with a bitch for an ex no excuse to let ur passport /visa lapse
if you have been here as long as you state surely you must know some people from better days> beats asking random people on a forum

If Canada is anything like the states, the embassy wont do much for ya, they will contact someone back in the states for you, but you state nobody to contact>
doubt they will give ya a loan to return, Unless ur plead on ur knees. BUT if you have nowhere to go there>>>>
At the minimum, at least go to the embassy an renew ur passport

To everyone reading this
things can go to shit if ur not on top of it
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
