What do your products do that a $12 clay/charcoal filter cannot do? I'm interested.

Well, its all depend on what is your needs & requirements on the water usage that you may need.
For example, for GE brand model no. GDBF-2000 which is tested & certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 for the reduction of Chlorine, Sediments, Cysts, Lead, Lindane, Asbestos, Mercury and Atrazine.
For Everpure brand model no. EVP PBS-400 which is tested & certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of Chlorine, Sediments, Lead, Cysts such as Cryptospordium and Giardia with a filtration capacity of 3,000 gallon (about the same as having 600 of those 20 litres bottled water). It might last you for about 1 year before you even need to replace a new filtration canister which only cost you half the price of the whole unit.

They cost you more money, and make profit for the company. Duh!

How much would the new filter be, exactly?

The most basic Pentair brand replacement filter canister for model CTS-QC1000 will cost US$40/pc up to our most expensive Everpure brand model PBS-400 replacement pre-filter at US$15/pc + main filter canister at US$150/pc.

I would be interested in the future. How often do the filters need to be changed (volume/L)? How much do replacement cartridges cost?
