Cafe/Restaurant Consulting Available

This is where you can buy and sell anything you want in Cambodia! There is no 'Craigslist Cambodia,' so this is the next best thing. Most items for sale are in Phnom Penh, but this is a buy and sell section for the whole country. Many expats and tourists have new and used items to sell, so anyone can list them here. CEO has no part in these sales, so buyers and sellers need to get in contact with each other themselves. You're always welcome to list items you're giving away for free, as we encourage the community to give when they can. Amazon and eBay ship select items to Cambodia, but you save time and money when you do things locally.

This cliche was invented by some boring guy trying to sound like big money.
It is not true. People will go out of the way to get to a cool place.

Almost everywhere in the eastern corridor between Monivong and riverside are good locations. So that is not an issue in PP.

In fact you can have location and still flop. There is one new restaurant flopping big time on 172 right now. It hurts me to look at it.

A few years ago there was a Russian cafe in snooky called something like Marika that was failing, even though it was on the main drag between the golden lions and the waterfront.

I agree w/ u to a point.. You might be right for PP.but when you have a business that has a lot of foot traffic, near a school, near a subway ( not fast food)- you have a greater chance at being successful .. your right tho.. if u have a quality product, people will travel for it... and PP is so small as well..
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it

But if your only feature is alchohol, all you get is drunks.
No college kids.
No middle class families.
No intellectuals.
I didn't infer that the only feature would be alcohol, Your conflating wine with alcohol per se. You said "There are 3 main factors affecting the success or lack of it for cafe/restaurants: staff, food, atmosphere. If you get just one right, you can make a success" I would argue you need all three and a good wine list in addition to make a success. Of course I am referring to a restaurant here not a coffee shop or beer bar.

The restaurants I frequent have a good wine selection but I have never encountered any drunks there. I must admit there are generally "no college kids" and the "intellectuals" are in short supply, but that's ok by me. :D

Why should someone hire you? What are your qualifications? What experience do you have? Have you ever owned a cafe or restaurant in Cambodia, or anywhere else?
It depends on how desperate they get.

1. The reason there are no drunks is because they have built up a resistance, and I don't mean the beret-wearing kind

2. I have met smarter people in bars than on university campuses on many occasions

That could be true of any establishment, admittedly regular drinkers build up a tolerance to alcohol, but generally the reason there are no drunks at the restaurants I frequent is because people go for a meal, and wine is an important accompaniment to that. People generally don't go to a restaurant to get drunk.

That's because they have fallen down dead drunk in the street before they could get there. End of story.
