Wanted: Low cost scooter <$500 (Scoopy?)
Wanted: Low cost scooter <$500 (Scoopy?)
Hello
I am looking at purchasing a cheaper scooter to get me around town for the next two years - I like the look of the Honda Scoopys, preferably a black one.
I have found one on FB Marketplace for $400, however would appreciate your advice on if it is a good deal, or things to look out for generally in regards to condition, ownership and registration process etc. - https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 342d81dd0e
Alternatively if there is any other good sites to look at to purchase scooters, I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you

That seller is in the trade. Click on her profile and you’ll see she has lots of bikes for sale.
Often they put on bikes at low prices to get you to come see it and ‘unfortunately’ they just sold the one you liked this morning. But they have others - just 150/200 more expensive but ‘good moto, strong engine’
Check if the seller is in the trade, you’ll probably get a better deal if you make a private purchase.

Not much to go wrong really, make sure it doesn't smoke, rattle, leak or shakemrkhun wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 5:01 pm Hello

Check that it drives smoothly - chances are the CVT may not have been serviced past a belt change
It's around $60-75 for a new variator, clutch, belt, brake pads, all bearings and roller weights as a kit - but will make an older automatic run just like new

I scored the First Gen MYLO E-Bike from HT Camera in Saigon back in 2020 ... love it ... paid $900, delivered ready to roll. Fastest I had it was 55kmh (slight downhill) and range of 15km give or take. Charges full in 4 hours, built like a tank. Folds, so you can take it to the bar and get a heat on, fold it up and throw it in the back of a taxi. No miss, no fuss. I plan to buy a second for my wife next year when we visit Saigon.

Who gives a shit? Anyone? The OP was asking a question, not about your "SCORE" back in 2020.Fridaywithmateo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 6:24 pm I scored the First Gen MYLO E-Bike from HT Camera in Saigon back in 2020 ... love it ... paid $900, delivered ready to roll. I don't think you will find a good Scoopy for that price. With a new Scoopy retailing at around 2500$ prices for used ones are high toomrkhun wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 5:01 pm Hello

Under 500$ you might find a Honda Today or Yamaha Fino / MIO.

Might be a good alternative to a snoopy. I think used ones are going for around $600-$700.Kenr wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 6:41 pmWho gives a shit? Anyone?
