Wanted: Low cost scooter <$500 (Scoopy?)

Have a car, truck, motorcycle, or bicycle you'd like to sell? List it here for free. Heck, you can even buy and sell tuktuks or your pink Scoopy here. Remember, you need a driver's license in Cambodia for cars, trucks, and any motorbike that's over 125cc. And always wear a helmet!

If you're looking to spend less than $500 and only drive around town then nothings beats a Honda Today. Cheap, reliable, cheap to maintain/repair and very spacious! Both the seat compartment as well as foot area. Only 'trade off' is the speed, depending on the age of the bike about 50,60 km/h max but in the city that doesnt really matter. Often here in Siem reap I'm the fastest on the road on a Today I'm much smaller and can squeeze trough, I recon in PP that would be even more so the case

I did see this one, but it unfortunately does not come with an ID card.

Missed out on a nice white 2015 Zoomer today (with ID card) that sold for $480, so now I can't pay much more than that out of frustration/anger haha.

Completely agree about trade sellers and the bait-and-switch tactics - not to mention everyone asking to chat through Telegram, with half the numbers listed on their ad not working or having too many/not enough digits.

The search continues.

I agree. Especially the newer model with more squarish speedo. Super reliable and cheap to run. However, you cannot be too tall, otherwise the driving position becomes pretty uncomfortable even for short rides. But if you are less than 175cm, then it's a really great scooter for city.

Hello all

Thank you for your advice - I picked up a 2015 Scoopy for $495 late last week, although the only downside is that it's pink! The bike runs relatively well so quite happy with that.

Three things:

1. Scooter insurance to cover theft etc. - any suggestions on companies that cover expats/foreigners?
2. Any shop recommendations around central Phnom Penh for paint or vinyl wrapping? If so, how much should I pay for a simple matte black style wrap and basic stickers
3. Any shop recommendations around central Phnom Penh for basic oil change, electrical work etc.

Thank you

I would try to get it converted to 3 wheels if it was me
and i would leave it pink , pink is my favorite color .
… and It might keep it safer from theft , maybe ..

I'm not sure you can convert a Scoopy easily to 3 wheels, considering the engine layout. It's possible to add 2 "trainer" wheels to the sides but they won't be powered.

Just got the PCX and a Scoopy wrapped yesterday, 5 year wrap. Scoopy was $35. They are all over the place and I recommend just going to Facebook and find a place close to you because it's very time consuming.

Oil change is everywhere. Depends on your location.

Is 5yr wrap how long it is meant to last?

Where did you go for the $35 wrap? I have messaged two places and both are $50-70+ and advised that it will take 2-3 hours

I like my cars & bikes with battle scars, this modern fad of wrapping things up to maintain some image of brand new perfection is as sad as Madonna trying to pretend she's still in her 20s. Give your vehicle some character, it has got a soul!
