HONDA CB500X

Have a car, truck, motorcycle, or bicycle you'd like to sell? List it here for free. Heck, you can even buy and sell tuktuks or your pink Scoopy here. Remember, you need a driver's license in Cambodia for cars, trucks, and any motorbike that's over 125cc. And always wear a helmet!

That exactly this model. It is produced in Thailand under Honda license but has you know motorbike importation from Thailand is "difficult" except for cars. Often the ones you find cannot get tax papers.....
Thanks to keep an eye on.

How much do they cost in Thailand? It's not difficult to import from there.

Edit: Just checked and roughly $7500 new.

Difficulties to import from Thailand are:
First to find the right person who import and not have a motorbike stolen. Also for the 2 first years on a new bike Honda dealers have the mono pole for sale or the import person have to pay a big amount of $ and they normally don't do.
If you pass through Honda dealer you have to wait 3 to 6 months they import from Japan or Europe not from Thailand.

Having the motorcycle stolen is a non issue. I know of several people who have had bikes imported. Just don't deal with shady dudes but go through established companies/importers.

I'm not sure I understand the other issue. You mean they're not sold second hand yet, so they'd have to buy at a dealer? Or you mean they won't allow them to be exported?

Why are you settled on that bike anyways? You could get a Versys, NCX, Himalayan for less than that.

Versys brand new $8500 and is a very similar machine in terms of capability and reliability

Honda CRF Rally. smaller engine. more capable off road than the CB500X and still pretty darned good for the types of roads here in Cambodia. Also very easy for less experienced riders to drive offroad due to predictable power delivery

What I mean in second issue is: if you are not an official Honda dealer you can import from Thailand but if the bike is under 2 years old you have to pay a tax/ fee extra.
I have try many time to find the right dealer so far no success. I drive bike since long time and do long trips on all kind of roads. The idea his to have a light bike. Plan B will be 650cc V-strom 2020; 15kg more than 500CBX. May be not so pretty but efficient for travel.
