Honda C70, $800
Honda C70, $800
Hello,
***This motor has been completely rebuilt but it is NOT the motor in the rebuild thread.***
***Bike is registered as a 50cc Cub but has a 70cc motor***
***Has all legal documents and taxes paid (except the $1 road tax thing)***
Bought this from my cousin who bought it off a container. She only used it It was originally a Super Cub 50 with the motor completely rebuilt from the ground up to a 70 motor (not a simple big bore and piston kit). Conrod and piston is weight matched to the crankshaft as is the intake, carburetor, and airbox. It's also been done properly with a "strong" clutch, wider final drive gear and "heavy duty" gearbox bearings as well. However, it retains the very handy 4 speed gearbox over the useless 3 speed, so it's much more pleasant to ride over a "normal" C70 or C90. If you didn't get what any of that meant, it's been properly "built" to handle the massive power increase that the 70 offers over a 50 (/sarcasm re: power increase) and at the same time be more friendly to ride. If you're wondering why I'd all that to a 50cc Cub, the reason is simple. There's something wrong with my brain.
Either way you look at it though, it's very slow but very frugal, about 68-72 km/l the way I have it geared 16/34 (front drive/rear drive gear). It's painfully slow though, so I'll likely gear it down for more acceleration. Expect 50-55 km/l on average.
Misc:
Front tyre brand new Yokohama
New front rim
Rear tyre 80% Duro
Brand new DID (Japanese brand) chainset
New exhaust pipe
Lots of other new parts but I've since forgotten what exactly.
The rear swingarm though has a stripped bolt on near the chainguard, but it's been holding since I cold welded it in. That's the only fault I can think of. Everything else works and is up to date on maintenance, including a full clutch teardown, clean and rebuild/regasket.
I've done roughly 1900 km on the motor in the last 2 months and the bike has no issues whatsoever.
Asking $800, for sale unless my other scooters sell first.
