What constitutes entertainment in Cambodia

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Well good. A government of some of the people, by some of the people, and for some of the people. This discussion does not constitute 'entertainment in Cambodia" for me

 That's pretty much how it is for the rest of the world too:
Eg.
"the shortage of people from the working class in American legislatures skews the policy-making process toward outcomes that are more in line with the upper class’ economic interests.” Nicholas Carnes (2013) White-Collar Government: The Hidden Role of Class in Economic Policy Making (Chicago Studies in American Politics)

And like my previous observations, your observation above does not necessarily mean that you condone or support it.

:please: I didn't say i like the sight of blood. As i grew up on national road number 4 and there were so many traffic accidents along that road. I saw road accident countless time. That's why i am not really freak out to see those graphic pictures on local news.

I enjoy reading the posts with the gory pictures, and if i was to see an accident id also go and have a look, its the real world, real life, bad things can happen, and do happen, and will continue to happen, it raises awareness, and educates, why pull the wool over your eyes, social media via phones is a great way to communicate, i have my khmer friends showing me pictures all the time of accidents, and them saying how bad it is and how you need to be careful, ive never had any come up to me saying "omg look how cool this is, look at all that blood, his head is so squished man!!"

but even it they were viewing it for "entertainment" or "pleasure" all through history theres been gory forms of entertainment..
Aztek public human sacrafices...
the Gladiators of Ancient Rome...
Public hangings in the UK/US...
in more modern times youve got plenty of websites like http://www.liveleak.com/ or http://www.bestgore.com/
Slasher/horror movies??
i think half of the problem with the western world is due to the hollywood media, and people thinking some of the crazy gruesome stuff only happens in movies and when they see it in real life its all to "real" for them..

learn from other peoples mistakes, educate yourself and make yourself more aware, so you dont end up in similar situations, i for one know i drive a lot more sensibly these days and being more aware of other traffic after seeing some some of these gruesome accidents here in cambodia whether it be in real life or on social media

Why do you feel the need to witness the gore of an accident "in the real world" to know that you should drive safely. The gore you witness is no Hollywood fabrication.

Lack of thought empathy? Needs to be real to be entered into the 'do not do oneself ' section? Doesn't seem to make anyone' 'not do', or even 'help out' and often causes more accidents. Whatever the reason, it seems a fairly predominant trait in humanity generally even in cultures where they have forgotten where eggs come from.

LoL, you started this topic in Khmer Culture yourself, it has stayed perfectly on topic, and now you're saying it belongs in the General Chatter section?
