And don't forget the pepper and chillie sauce .logos wrote:Well today is yesterday's tomorrow and he's still here. So I would take his ramblings with a pinch of salt.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

i listen to khmer music all the time, and also speak to a lot of my khmer friends on facebook (you can make free calls on there now) im never usually away too long, so doent effect me too badly but i do understand your point, espehially regards to the confidence thing i remember from when i first started going over there, i find it most frustrating when i pop over to Thailand and im having to double think what im saying all the time and when im drunk i oftenly just find myself talking khmer to them haha -_-

I used to be able to speak French with my mother who is a native speaker but have since forgotten a lot of it, although I understand it somewhat still as I like to watch programmes here and there in French. I also used to speak Spanish (you kind of have to in America, haha) but again, speaking is nearly impossible for me now, only listening and even that is mostly gone.
I think some people don't forget and some do though, it's up to the person. I'm a forgetter, my wife is a memorizer. When I met my wife in the U.S., she hadn't used Khmer in 7 years for the most part but the first time we set foot in Cambodia together, she started speaking like it she had never left. However, another friend that came with us had almost completely forgotten how to speak Khmer in the same amount of time and had to talk to my wife in English to get translations of what people were saying to her.
