The life of Cambodian on my camera
The life of Cambodian on my camera
I am not sure if this thread would fit in which section. It is a bit out of topic to put it in Cambodian Culture and Language, however i couldn't find a better place to put it
Since most of Cambodia TVs show only propaganda and left behind a lot of fact about Cambodia and especially the life of unfortunate Cambodians. I wonder if people do believe Cambodia TVs saying Cambodians are becoming wealthier and living in better condition and better life while you could see many people especially children begging for money along the roads, many homeless people in the capital city, many people work so hard but still can't earn enough money to live in an acceptable lifestyle, people committed suicide for being poor.
I will start this thread with this picture i took when i was on the way from Orussey Market. An old guy was having his lunch on the sidewalk. I am not sure if he was only eating rice without foods as i couldn't see. This kinda of thing i will never see on Cambodia recent TVs.
Please feel free to add pictures you took indicating Cambodia and the life of Cambodian and it would be wonder if you could add anecdotes you heard from these unfortunate people.

I took these pictures last year on Water festival. It was about 2pm, they were having their lunch, carrying a plastic of rice and dry fish with a bottle of water.

Have you seen the cards some of them were dealt with? Definitely qualifies as unfortunate to me.phuketrichard wrote:why do u think they are "unfortunate people"?

It's a shame that Khmer isn't the international language of the world, otherwise they too would be jumping borders to teach Khmer and easily make 5X what locals there make.

If someone is born poor they don't know any different. It's only "unfortunate" in our western eyes.

I'll agree, to a SMALL extent. I'm pretty sure many "poor" people in Cambodia feel poor. They don't need to visit the West to come to that realisation.SinnSisamouth wrote:If someone is born poor they don't know any different. It's only "unfortunate" in our western eyes.
