Looking for a teacher

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Looking for a teacher

Post by Bitte_Kein_Lexus »

Ok, so I've got a lot of time on my hands and have finally made an early new years' resolution of sorts: I'm aiming to learn to read and write Khmer once and for all. I speak fairly fluently and have for years, but was always too lazy to learn to read and write as it's not exactly essential for everyday life. I've learned the consonants and vowels at least twice before, so I'm sure it'll likely come back fairly quickly if I get into it. Still, at the moment I can't really read (only a few words when I actually manage to remember/decipher the letters).

So I'm looking for a private teacher willing to come to my place maybe twice per week to start (ASAP). If you know of someone good (preferably female and hot, but old and male will be considered ;)) then please let me know. I remember stroppy or someone else giving me a number months ago, but I can't find it anymore.

I had to asked Google to translate what you wrote and I still don't understand what you said.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

You could go to a bookstore and buy a children's reader. Then just practice.
