Thanks - is the k at the end of srak pronounced?prahkeitouj wrote:If you remember Srak Ai(vowel Ai) then you will know how to write 6.StroppyChops wrote:Because I am learning to write Khmer, and I can never remember which way these go!Samouth wrote:Why? You will be fine without knowing them. We don't use them quite often in writing.StroppyChops wrote:^ the five, six, seven and nine hate me.
5 is similar 4.
And 7 is similar 2.

ស្រៈ
I wouldn't expect any k sound at the end. I don't hear a k sound at the end.

i don't know how people here learn how to read khmer. it is really challenging. I think first you need to learn our 33 consonants and more than 50 vowels. This might requires a tutor. I have used reankhmer.com quite frequently and found it very useful for learning the writing and correct pronunciation. It costs money but I forget how much, not a lot though.

Yep, definitely with a tutor because pronunciation is king.Samouth wrote:i don't know how people here learn how to read khmer. it is really challenging. yeah especially with khmer i learn through friends, i either ask them what something means that they speak, or i find something and ask how they pronounce, because its normally different, which makes writing khmer in Romany english very difficult
