CHBAP PROH, code of conduct of Cambodian men

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

If you want to see, there are a lot in Vihear of pagodas.
Thanks for those last two posts. Black dogs ? We have something similar in western culture; hell hounds of Hades. Aren't they the traditional best eating dogs? Some Vietnamese people have told me they prefer black dog meat, do you know if it is the same in Cambodia?.

A friend has a dog with black patches of skin and black patches on its tongue. He tells me the local belief is that such a dog can not be envenomed by a snake bite.

(G-Nazis: yeah, I know, I prefer 'envenomated' too, but there you have it.)

^^ Why not just keep it simple and say, ' such a dog cannot be poisoned by a snake'.

Nah, I'm fine, but I can see how my Frances-esque comment would be taken the wrong way - sorry for that.

Normally we don't eat dogs. They're just pets only. But still some drunken people like dog meat. But some people believe that black dog blood is help them to curse some illness.
