"I Carry Your Heart" (translation)

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Welcome aboard Starkmonster!
Actually, I thought you were already here. But, apparently not if it's your first post.

So, how would you spell kikilu? [not having a go, just asking]

I would guess គីគីលូ, I think we should stick to កិកិលូ for the tatoo though.

You mean you don't know???

There's like a 10 page thread about it on another forum.

Cut to the chase, just ask your wife.

That's the joke (that's getting old already), no one knows what it means exactly other than it has sexual connotation.

I must have seen half a dozen people in the last few days wearing "what is kikilu t-shirts".

Actually, my wife didn't know, so she asked my eldest son. He said that it's a 'rude' word, but not sure what it means or how to describe it.

oh wait, no she's not....

"it mean" [flips me off] [laughs]

"well, it mean sex for young people who are not married, just go to get guesthouse."

"no, is just mean sex... not have to mean not married."

"no... it mean sex when not married."

So at least she's sure... lol. Seems to just be a "thing" but not have any real meaning, only implied ones and that are probably flexible with context.
