Cambodia in the News: Travelling Through History

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Thanks, I couldn't find anything either. I know that it was and still is a problem in certain countries, however, nothing pointed to Cambodia. I have learned during my genealogy research there is a lot of information in old papers that doesn't quite fit. For example, the date my Great-Great Grandfather came to America. I found several different dates on Census, Naturalization, and ship passenger lists and none are the same. Alot of things I find are hard to dig through because people can say what they want take the story of Pocahontas its later discovered that a certain someone was full of it when he wrote that account. Though I think its cool to see how the world or Cambodia was viewed at this time and the information/misinformation that was available. I wonder how people will view us and our time 200 years from now.
