Appropriate "thank you" gift for a Khmer person?

I haven't decided for sure, but I'll probably go with some assorted fruit. Seems like a safe bet.

Bad decision,, The fruit could have poisonous spays on it, maybe have bugs inside or maybe sour fruit. Go for the beer gift, as every can will be guaranteed to be top quality beer, all the equally the same, and he can share with his many friends or sell them or trade them for something he wants as beer is the most tradable currency in Cambodia, especially with KNY coming up. Also remember they will keep longer than fruit.
