Whilst Thailand hopefully has a big come up since the mourning is now over I would say the rest of the year making money to go back to Thailand is a great idea.

Yeah, it's going to be great when you get to Thailand Trapper. It'll be much better than all the times before when you decided it was crap. Thailand has changed a lot in the last few months, you just keep on being yourself, Thailand will eventually mold itself to your expectations.

Yes I agree whilst the baht may be way too strong the quality is actually ten fold higher in Thailand....

A guest house in low season in pattaya/phuket can be had for approx 11 USD and that includes fan, TV, aircon, hotwater and a daily maid to clean up.

Highly unlikely in phnom phen in 2017....

You will get aircon for minimum 15$ and they will clean the room when they feel like it plus there will be a defect in the room of some kind, broken WiFi, broken remote or fan doesn't turn or the bathroom floor will clog.

Cambodia used to have the edge over Thailand with high quality guesthouses for dirt cheap back 6-7 years ago when nobody really went there.

Now those same guest houses have doubled/tripled in price whilst Thailand has let the guest house prices stay the same over the years/ no increase whatsoever.

No that's the truth.

I remember in Siem reap I payed 11 USD in 2010 for a huge big guesthouse.
Now I payed 25 dollars for the same room except the room is now 7 years old and looks drab.
