Ahh yes.. Cut off all my fingers and toes and I could still count on all my fingers and toes the # of guys who go out to a hostess bar looking for a dance partner or dinner date...... Denial or stupidity is happening here..

We've gone to hostess bars a few times together.

How many times have a bar fined a girl to come home with me?

I'm guessing none.

I'm a little confused that some guys don't get that not every guy that goes to a hostess bar only goes there to take a woman home.

These places need to have bar fines. If not they would all be empty.

On several occasions myself or others in my group have bar fined girls and NOT taken them home.

Don't get me wrong. Every time I step foot outside my house I have a goal of bringing a girl back, but it's not always the main goal.

Hostess bars can be great fun if you know what to expect.

Did you still pay the girls the amount the barang pimp has told/taught them to charge for companionship? I'm guessing the figures are about $50usd. Are guys really paying girls from hostess bars $50.usd for dinner and dancing?(plus of course the cost of the food and drinks)

I would suggest trying it yourself, but apparently you don't ever go in them and have no idea how hostess bars work:

Ask a girl if she wants to be bar fined and go out with you for the night.

As GM says you seem to have a limited idea how Phnom Penh bars work.
Once the girl has left the bar, in about half the cases they just go eating, bar cruising, and dancing. I'm not aware of any bar owners telling the girls to charge for this. The girls generally just enjoy getting out of the bar for the evening. Sometimes the guys will tip them $5-20 for their time, plus pay for food and drinks, but there is no "companionship" charge.

As far as your area, Pattaya, is concerned, I have no idea how the bars operate and have no interest in knowing. I've only spent a week there and that was five days too long. Bad attitudes from many girls and lots of crappy dull bars.

I doubt that in half the cases the purpose of the barfine is just hanging out with the girl. But i am not a bar owner and hopefully never will.

That's what some guys tell the "bar owner" but as we all know, the girls need money and are with the barang for money, not love or dinner dates.
