Return after a long time

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

GSM is bad news.
Street 136 has only one bar that existed in 2005, Red Fox - and that only opened in around October that year. The only other two at that time were the long gone Peace Pub and gay bar Salt Lounge. There were no girly bars on that street then. GSM didn't even open till 2009.

On my last trip to the airport, I waved down a pass app tuk tuk. It was $4.

Sophies closed in 2008.

It has all been downhill since then, according to many of my friends.

There were only a few girly bars when you left, mostly on st104 and st110. Now there are heaps.

Sharkys is nothing like it was. Shanghai is still hanging in there kind of. The Heart is now a gay destination so I am told.

I sure prefer a real tuktuk with a Khmer guy who knows the town and you can get to know..
pass ap is just running the old cats out of business.
the vehicles are shit, cramped, don't hold luggage for shit....
great, you got a ride for $4...
you are the same bunch who wouldn't tip a waiter and want a bar girl for $5...
So glad I never ran in your crowd...

Passapp also have normal tuk-tuks and cars. If you still don't know your way around and are that stuck for company good luck with your new pals though.

Broken Bricks is now a fantastic noodle restaurant, which I very often visit of an evening in order to enjoy some pulled noodle soup, dumplings and the view of Angry Birds as the girls start arriving for their lusty shifts.
