Why not? Is there something wrong with you? (Not that there's anything wrong with that except that it's wrong). Why else would anyone be on a Cambodia expats interwebz forum?John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 11:32 am I wasn't asking for advice on which was the best fuck, where to find them and how much they charged.
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

I don't agree. Most people filmed are sitting on the premises, in front of a bar, that's no public space. The street is public space, the area in front of a bar is not, just like the inside of a bar.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 10:47 amwhen ur INSIDE a place, ( be it a bar, a restaurant a hotel lounge) ur no longer in Public and it is clearly posted, ( at least in every gogo i have visited), photography forbidden.hanno wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 10:08 amBut I do remember this: Photography is forbidden inside bars and other venues in red light districts including Patpong and Cowboy."phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 7:15 am i'd say he was filming with a hidden camera, or at least not using his view finder, as it shot at waist level ( i quit watching after 1 minute, fucking boring) as most girls will react ( if their not dead) to someone pointing a camera at them.
Yep;....filming an awful lot of people without their consent.
if ur in a public place you have no legal rights to privacy>>>and as long as the film is not used for advertising or promotional purposes, no signed release needed.
Yet u still see some photos of gogo girls on the net.
Besides, filming over a 100 people without them knowing, and then publishing it under the alias 'Thailand Red' is far from 'chique' don't you think? I am pretty sure quite some girls featured in these 'movies' are far from happy with it.

It's not exactly secret either. They are sitting there to attract customers. The whole point of them being there is to make them visible to the public.
How about the tourist videos from Angkor Wat? I'm not very happy about CCTV either but there's little I can do besides masking myself. Is there any bar in the filmed areas that does not have CCTV? Hell, Taco Bill couldn't even glass a hoe without being voice recorded and the mp3 posted on Soundcloud.
Re: Phnom Penh Nightlife 2018 - Anyone Still Awake ?
If people shoot videos in the Angkor Wat I assume they don't want to record crowds visiting, or visitors sitting around having coffee, but the temples. So a strange comparison I think.fax wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:10 amIt's not exactly secret either. They are sitting there to attract customers. If there's a CCTV system somewhere it should be announced, and you can leave if you want, or sit outside on the premises if there's no CCTV there. These people could not leave, because he secretly filmed them. Another difference between this recording and CCTV is CCTV recordings don't end up on YouTube.

Those scenes are pretty rough.
One or two attractive girls among them, but most of them have an obvious air of coming from the lower rungs, with poor posture/poise and bad attitudes.

They could have left if being filmed bothered them. It seems it bothers you more than them.Kammekor wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:20 am If there's a CCTV system somewhere it should be announced, and you can leave if you want, or sit outside on the premises if there's no CCTV there. CCTV material from those bars gets posted on social media anytime someone is accused of doing something wrong. In other words, they post the footage as they please. See the various groups on Facebook where people are accused of eating bills and stuff, often with very little evidence showing the actual event. Nobody ever complains about privacy issues.
Those same girls have no problem flipping out their smartphones and live streaming members of the public on their Facebook profiles or Skype calls with their boyfriends.

Looking at the videos I think most people were not aware he was recording.fax wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:24 amThey could have left if being filmed bothered them. And about Facebook, you might be true. I don't use it.

ie; reason i said he was filming form waist height, probably with a hand held gopro camera so he didn't need to aim/focus.Kammekor wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 3:22 pmLooking at the videos I think most people were not aware he was recording.fax wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:24 amThey could have left if being filmed bothered them. In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Either this guy is being quite obvious with his "concealed" camera, or he's quite unattractive in some way.
Almost every scene ends with the stink-eye-of-disgust from one of the subjects.
Although their horses don't look very high to me, despite what they appear to think.

Re: Phnom Penh Nightlife 2018 - Anyone Still Awake ?
I've been around those scenarios and for years (living/ working/ out and about), so I've seen how these areas work and how the women roll in in the late afternoon and start munching on snacks, gossiping, checking out clothes from wandering Indian hawkers etc. I'm not out at 3AM so often though which is when these were shot. Some of the scenes are a bit unflattering to the subjects, and I have to agree isn't fair to film people without their knowledge. However it's still a very good documentary. It humanizes the people, rather than just showing them throwing their pitches or poses. I liked it a lot.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
