Khun Nat leaving Rehabb

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Khun Nat leaving Rehabb

Post by ExPenhMan »

This is going to disappoint many people but super hostess Nat announced that Thursday night is her last at Rehabb. A multi-person FB message thread is underway. In it she writes under the name Sean Beaumanis and later clears up that it's Nat responding (hope I got this right):
I've learned today that tomorrow, Thursday 31st March is going to be my last day of working at Rehabb...
Interpret that as you will.

May I add that Rehabb simply won't be the same, her being the heart and soul of the place. Wish I had a cool bar like that here in Pattaya.

Add: Had a frightening thought it was an April Fools joke but she replied to my PM in which I wished her luck in her future endeavours.

Wow, shocking to hear. I've only met her once at Rehabb Bar and she was very nice and ran a great bar.

Hmm, talked to her very recently and she didn't mention it. We're not "close" though, so perhaps that's why.

I noticed Rehabb has a new girl working there, so maybe she'll be the new host? I couldn't tell where she was from. She looks south east Asian I guess, but her accent definitely isn't Khmer. Anyone know why it's her last day? Is she being fired or something?

A quick note: it's not an April Fools joke. She really is leaving. [Only she failed to say the bar's been sold.]

I imagine many of her fans will abandon the bar, at least for a while. It's such a great bar and had great food, which Nat's mother was cooking in the early days, anyway. I think Rehabb will see a big dip in business for a spell.

Edited out speculation: Scoobie on K440 says Aussies have bought the bar.

Well, that's good news. It's a very "beautiful" bar and would have been a shame for it to have just closed.

Did Nat own the bar? Wonder why they've sold, seemed like they were doing well.

Sorry to hear that, Nat was a great lady and will be sorely missed. Hope everything goes well for the future.

My wife got on really well with Nat and is quite sad she is leaving.

I've been reading a lot of compliments about Nat and how she treated GFs/wives as equals -- not as boy appendages, as is done here in Thailand. Of course, 15 years in Canada might have had some effect on a Thai girl.

From what I understand, her ex-husband/business partner owned it. I suppose I would also sell if there was an offer he thought he couldn't refuse. This is pure speculation on my part, as I have never actually met the guy (Sean/Shaun?). Maybe he has other goals, got tired of it or there are other not private issues which force the sale. I saw the two Aussies in there the other day.
