Keeping in touch with a bar girl after first visit to Cambodia

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

When blokes say "she is not that kind of girl" I just remind them that they met her in a bar !!!!!!

What was she doing before you met her? What as she doing last night?

She is working in the bar to get as much money for her family. She will end up with a smart phone from a well off customer who "loves"her probably before you get back.

Suck it up. Enjoy the moment.

There is a classification system the bargirls use with the men in their lives.

First there is 'customer'. These men are on a time limit and nothing more than 'pay as you go'. These guys drop $30-$100. No emotional connection from either party.

Second there is 'boyfriend'. These men (usually have 2-10) are not on a time limit but are expected to pay for new phones, clothes, Snoopy motorbike and fall for any bullshit story about family problems they can come up with.
Now there is emotion involved and usually mostly from the guy.
Remember the person with the most emotional tie up usually loses.
The costs here can run into a few thousand quickly. The girl remains in the bar work. The boyfriend must put up with the girl still 'going with customer' and not complain as is it is 'only work'.

The next group is 'Husband' (usually only 1 Barang and 1 Khmer husband in the background often referred to as her 'brother'.)
This sometimes involves a Buddist ceremony and the girl leaves the bar.
The costs here can be in the tens and hundreds of thousands. Land, houses, pigs and jewelery all make the list.
There is more of a mutual emotional attachement.

Then there is 'Cusband'. This is when the guy thinks he has a Khmer wife and the girl is playing him like a customer. This often involves guys who come to Cambodia for months at a time. They can have 2-3 'Cusbands'.

Men can move up and down the list depending on the current state of play. If you stop buying things for example you can quickly go down the list from boyfriend back to customer.

Good on anyone for wanting to have a go with a bargirl. At least you will have a few sad storys to tell your friends back home.

Interesting insight into your experience here. Thanks

fixed that for you
..fresh off the BUSS....

Personally, i find khmer girls are LESS likely to have a local husband while married/living with a Barang vs a thai girl

As to keeping in touch while ur gone.... WHY< so you can say u have a gf?
ONLY consider this if your seriously thinking of moving to live full time back in the kingdom
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Then there is the issue of having a half Barang / Khmer baby.

The girls working in the bars all want one. When you ask why they always point to your nose and add " baby grow up to be movie star and take care Mama".

I know guys who had unprotected sex a few times and then got hit up with 'you soon daddy'. Although babies are usually made with 'boyfriend' or 'husband'.

It costs over $1000 to get a DNA test l believe here.
Many guys just dont know if the baby is theirs but get caught up in the dilema.

Banging a prostitute without a condom is dumb at best. Believe me l know at least 10 Barang who have been told a baby is theirs and are paying for the child.
Is the baby theirs? Great question.

haha my Neighbors a couple of years ago was a nice Canadian guy and his Khmer wife of 10 years,
he had to go back to Canada for a couple of months,
2 days after he left, her Khmer husband/long term boyfriend (i didnt ask any questions lol) moved in for a few weeks and then they went back to live in the Province

cheaper to pay $65 for a termination than $1000 for a DNA

I doubt a Khmer girl would terminate a half white baby. Kill a dream.
