Before you arrive, she'll be either looking in the mirror, eating, searching YouTube for crap music to play, or, she'll be playing on her iPhone. Often I'm the only customer or one of a few in some of the quieter bars and occasionally in one of the more popular ones too, and if I'm drinking $1.75-$2 Anchor cans and a girl sits with me you have some dough coming in. If I buy her a $3.50 coke (more than a day's wage for most Cambodians) you have more rolling in. If I sit with her for 6 beers then tip her $3 for her time she'll be way happy and the bar has made some dough on their beers. If I drink 6 beers and buy her 6 glasses of coke ($21 just for the cokes) I'll feel like a mug. All I've effectively done is taken the time of a girl who wasn't busy anyway. Say you were there for 2 hours consuming the 6 drinks, was her time worth $10.50 per hour?

I realise in the busy bars when there are plenty of customers the girls want to be with the ones providing drinks and ringing the bell and throwing ridiculous amounts of money around. Most punters just aren't that silly.

Some of the girls can also be outright deceitful too, as many punters find out. There are girls who promise everything but then when 'check beer' time comes, after you've run up a four hour tab for lady-drinks, suddenly they have their period or mum is sick and I have to go see her. I know some girls who are such convincing liars and spin all kinds of bullshit but DO NOT go with customers. These girls make you really wary of the bar scene and unless you've been around for a while you wouldn't be aware of what these 'drink sluts' are up to.

Having said all that, if you gel with the girl and you are having fun you'll be happy to buy them drinks and tip them when you go. But the ones who start nagging you for a drink before you've had half of your first beer are doing a huge disservice for their bar. I don't want to decide if I like a girl by buying her a drink, I want to decide I like her and then buy her a drink.

Anyway, always interesting to discuss these things. Nothing like a good bargirl thread, you'll even have the K440ers whose names cannot be mentioned, because they are so important, reading the posts.

I totally understand that this is not your scene. You seem to want the quick, no messing around fuck. Cyrcee and all the other places your mention offer this. Hostess bars are for a different type of customer. Believe it or not there are quite a lot of them. They are just looking for something different to you. A scam? No, just a different experience.

no, there's no need for the hostess bars to exist, they're a novelty of the last decades just like the gogo bars and anything in between.

hostess bars are just a more expensive option, that's all, but it doesn't mean if they cease to exist the prostitution scene will suddenly disappear, it will just move elsewhere and it will be cheaper and better, hostess bars are just yet another way to screw their customers.
