Hippy Pizza

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

I am amazed by the amount of people here that regularly munch on the cakes/chocolate brownies and an hour later they are off their tits. I don't get it, sorry, being zombied out at the bar is not my idea of a good time.

I bumped into a friend last week, a 70 year bloke FFS, who had taken some mushrooms about two hours prior and was incapable of looking up, he spent an hour staring down at the table and talking gibberish. He needed help to get to the toilet. His slightly younger friend, who supplied them and had taken some as well, thought it was hilarious. Fucking ridiculous behaviour.

That sounds dopity dope. Who are your friends and where do they hang out?
If you enjoy noise pollution and obnoxious driving practices, Phnom Penh is the place for you!

I agree, also I think most people learn at a pretty young age that getting bombed out of your head on alcohol at a bar is not any fun either. We probably all have known, or will know people who have tried it and it never ended well. I have to say though, that I probably would try mushrooms, small amounts, in some kind of controlled setting (definitely not a bar) as I have been told it is quite an experience, a way of looking at yourself and the world from a different perspective.

Even though being stoned of my tits hasn't been my thing for more than 20 odd years now, I kinda get it that a lot of people use it to chill out at the end of a stressful day.

It's the harder drugs I don't get. People who are completely and utterly zombied out of their own existence. How can that, in any way, possibly be an enjoyable experience? How awful must your actual reality be for you to prefer to be a literal zombie with absolutely no control, barely any conscious abilities and a zero awareness of your own self-being that it's still preferable to the alternative.

I tried Ketamin once when I was 18 and hated every minute of it. I couldn't stop laughing hysterically but I had no idea why and no control to stop it. I wasn't laughing because something was funny. I was just, kind of , laughing for no reason, which might not seem so bad, but when you can't control it and you know there's no reason for it, it's quite frightening. I was fully aware of how ridiculous I looked and (thankfully I did it as part of a group in private) vowed never to touch anything like that ever again.

Which I never have.

I know DOS closed down. RIP. Great establishment.
A couple of years ago I had really severe lower back problems, and found that the only way I could sleep at night was by either taking an opioid, ambien or cannabis, and cannabis seemed the least objectionable. Tried one of those Happy Pizza places on the riverside, wish I could remember the name, just a storefront with a some Happy Pizza signage. The pizzas were horrid as pizzas go and were extremely variable as to the happy part. One time a slice was good for the night, but with another one, there was no effect at all, same place, same pizza, same price (yes I ordered extra happy). I guess you could say there was no "quality control?" So gave up on happy pizza here, not just because of that, but also I'm not too comfortable buying something that, while sold openly not too from the Royal Palace, may or may not be legal, depending on how the police feel that day. At the time I didn't know you could just get the ingredients, so I guess if I had to do it again I would just do that. As an aside, finally found a doc in the US who actually knew what they were doing, so no more back problems, and thankfully no more need for those "happy" pizzas.
I wish I knew a whole lot more, or a whole lot less.

I haven't done psychedelics since the 90s, but I generally enjoyed them. I preferred indoors with friends or out in nature. Urban environments with strangers was not fun.

I read enough Carlos Castaneda and the like to see some psychological/spiritual value in tripping occasionally.

A good number of people in California, where it's legal, and where my wife spend a part of each year, use cannabis. And I don't know of a single one who gets zombied out or gets stoned off their tits. You buy it a a nice pharmacy like store, or grow your own, and yes, it does grow like a weed. And as you say " people use it to chill out at the end of a stressful day." One thing I have noticed is that people I know who, when they drink too much, become hostile and mean, when the use cannabis, get mellow and chill. When in California, when before I might have had a cognac to calm down at the end of the day (yes I know it sounds stuffy, but I liked it), now I have a smoke or an edible, usually from stuff grown in my own garden.

On the other hand the hard stuff is a completely differnt thing and I agree completely with what you said:

"It's the harder drugs I don't get. People who are completely and utterly zombied out of their own existence. How can that, in any way, possibly be an enjoyable experience? weed is not for everyone. But 99% tolerate it just fine. And the new strains they have now that are scientifically developed and well regulated that you can buy where it is decriminalized (US States, Holland) are tailored to those who may have had paranoid or other psychotic reactions in the past because they are sensitive to THC (the same way some people are sensitive to Caffeine). Indica and heavy CBD/CBN to THC ratio strains as opposed to Sativa high THC ratio ones for those that are THC sensitive.

Buying in Cambodia, where it is a crapshoot, is another matter. But most of the weed I have had is OK. Sometimes harsh tasting or maybe a bit "speedy" (i.e. it keeps you up - probably indicative of a sativa heavy strain). The Nepalese hash is great when you can get it and induces a nice buzz just perfect before bedtime.

can you really get high on the pizza weed? How many pizzas you need to eat, like 20? I guess that most people who get stoned after a happy pizza are probably drunk or have taken other drugs.
work is for people who cant find truffles
