You want him to wax lyrical about the toothless shoeshine guy? Rhyming pentameter, perhaps, or poetic couplets?Dara wrote:JP speaks jibberish while I suspect he is capable of much better imput.

Given the context, I think 'imput' (sic) is a pretty clever play on words - wonder if it was intentional?StroppyChops wrote:You want him to wax lyrical about the toothless shoeshine guy? Sorry to disappoint though, it's strictly 'erput'.

A recent forum poll showed that 51% of posters aren't to good with grammar, while the remaining 59% are dreadful at numbers.

Re: GSM what's the appeal?
Wondering how much longer the great GSM white elephant will keep going? It really is a shithole and a quick wander around reveals that almost all of the shops apart from the central area are empty.
With all the talk of it getting knocked down over the years who would venture into a business there?
My guess is that they will find a more profitable venture for that land soon. No idea what. If it closed down I guess the block up to the WA would suddenly have a bunch of hostess bars/freelance joints setting up.
A few years ago I heard that the powers that be wanted to get rid of all the girly bars on 104, 136 etc and get them to relocate in the 51 precinct so all the foreign orientated stuff was away from the riverside. The source, who I cannot name (way too important LOL), is usually spot on about stuff but seems to have got this one wrong.
Is anyone up with the goss?

Re: GSM what's the appeal?
I think it's one of those things that nobody can predict in Cambodia. Even the powers that be can't follow through with most plans, so there may have been many genuine plans to do so, but then other,, maybe more important, plans pop up and those previously decided on get changed.

Re: GSM what's the appeal?
I seriously doubt it. GSM sits on a particularly spendy piece of land. In my assessment, GSM exists only as a place holder, put there after the crash of 2007-2008 instead of the much larger project that they had planned, pretty much just to fill the space and create a small income on the property until the real project begins. At some point probably not in the too distant future, the whole thing will be torn down and some much larger development put up in it's place. Question is, will it take the rest of the 51 bar scene with it when it goes.Joker Poker wrote:A few years ago I heard that the powers that be wanted to get rid of all the girly bars on 104, 136 etc and get them to relocate in the 51 precinct so all the foreign orientated stuff was away from the riverside.
