Good places to play pool

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

With the power cuts you wanna find somewhere with a generator!
If you want to play rich khmer there is a place at the top of 113 just before preah sihanouk has some very swankky cars outside. You can see the tables through the glass

Sharkeys. Competitions on Sundays and Wednesdays from 7.30. 3 tables.

Sensations on 130. Pool room at the back with a very good table, but it does get a bit hot despite 2 ac units. Don't know why...

Frog Skin bar on street 5 between 118 and 110. Upstairs mezzanine with AC and a good table. Fuck knows how they got the table up there or how it has collapsed subsequently.

Hops bar on 228 and 51. Good tables, competition days and overpriced poncy beer.

Can't really remember the name but I think
California riverside... used to always get the good players there at the time was the best table in PP. ,or at least 1 of them.

As well as sharkeys (same players) all got the glove on.. But can play 2 $ a game or what ever most of them are friendly normally end up getting free bear out of it. Unless u get 2 many free beers then u might give it back haha

To add to the already mentioned, Score Bar on 278 has plenty of good tables and a nice spot called Q Club on St 113 is good too, they even have Snooker tables there. (Some of the glove wearing pool experts should move on to Snooker when pool becomes that easy for them) Though you are charged by the hour at Q, It's about $4 an hour IIRC.

It certainly isn't a game you'd play if you were planning a night ahead. But it can be good fun if you find someone on an equal level as yourself and just play socially for something to do in the day time. Me and someone I know are very good pool players (not taking it to glove wearing levels though) so we moved onto snooker, played around 400 frames for a $5 wager over the years and unbelievably the score was/is 190-188. Though such is the difficulty I think the highest break was something like 32.

SD Riverside used to be perfect for a pre-session game of pool, you'd have a nice mix of a few regulars as well as people staying the night there. There were a couple of tournament nights, other nights you'd have a game of killer for $1 a head and its a great table. It's just dead there now though, everyone moved to Sharkys.

sd, was the best table in my mind at the time, the first 2 in sharkeys was ok. but i guess they channged now or at least the cloth.
cloth makes all the difference and for some bars the pool table is the main feature they should take more care of them :)
u could always get a good game or 20 if u wanted at a resonable level. (which i consider reasonable any way)
i always likt to check out new places. in london i used to play all the time but not recently... soon to change as well as my travelling :)

snooker my best ever was 49 and only once... many 30's but not in the same sesson so im classed as shite!!!
