Funny Story

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

I don’t frown on bargirl pick ups as such. I frown on the mentality of many who do indulge - the complete and total objectification of a woman existing purely for one’s personal sexual pleasure.

FTFY Violet :D
I was waiting for this comment from somebody.

True

Edit (sorry) (but we should remember that while this happens in any country among those of any level of income, sometimes a Cambodian woman has that attitude from the same stance a western woman in the 50s would have - and many men like it that way)

You're absolutely right, a bargirl should never be objectified purely for sexual pleasure. It's often forgotten that most of them make brilliant Connect Four players as well.

I prefer the skills of the market girls - what they can do with a rubber band!

Crikey there are some fuddie duddies on here. Are people so out of touch with how young people behave in Australia. I live in a party town and young people are much more promiscuous that Phnom Penh bar girls.
Many of them are conservative compared to young Australians and backpackers. Women only go out drinking at night to pick up a man. It’s not for the company of their friends.

No further input from the saline one.

Busy exploring alternative interpretations of the face plant, or just another random sign-up; a few random posts, and off to another place?

I’m guessing that his colleague in the background is not so open to some of his… advances?

Actually, as you know, "vet" here is "veteran". "Salty" probably refers to being in the Navy. As a seppo myself, I've met an number of these Americans vets from the VN War or later here in Se Asia. They usually view the ordinary as extraordinary and mundane daily events as humorous/enlightening cultural experiences in an exotic foreign land.

Which is a great attitude to have. Party on, Salty Vet, and share some more wild and crazy stories with us so that this forum doesn't get too boring with its dozen regular members chatting amongst themselves.
