The cops will when they find a brothel open in their area.

Having had a working relationship with the piggies of that particular ផ្លូវ myself I'd say he's probably fine so long as the teas get bought every month

I dunno about that. Whatever one thinks of the business model and the associated legality, punters looking for a freelancer now know of another place to go..for the time being..Moe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:21 amWhat's the potential upside of continued engagement at this point? He's not exactly getting a lot of positive press out of any of the responses he's provided thus far. The people questioning his business model don't seem particularly open-minded. Not saying that there's reason that they should be, but this is clearly not working out as the OP had probably hoped.
Re: Floozys Freelancer Bar on 172
I think why the OP is getting ribbed is because he claims the freelancers that go there are not employees, but they obviously are when customers are required to pay “lady drink” prices for their company and the ladies, and establishment, are compensated from “lady drinks” from customers.
I pass absolutely no judgement for his business model, but don’t bullshit a bullshitter, it’s a bar that employees freelancers on commission and provides S/T rooms for quick hookups. If he were to just call it was it is he wouldn’t have to be on here trying to justify what he is doing.

I've been in there. It's a nice bar, beer is stone cold, good AC, and comfy bar stools. It's a tad bright and colourful for my taste, but it didn't detract from my time there. I certainly enjoyed my time in your bar far more than you enjoyed your time posting here. In a couple of months when it 40c+ outside every fuckin day, and other bars AC can't cope, you should get a bump from people seeking relief.floozys wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:55 am If a customer brings their gf or wife in there of course it would just be a regular drink because they know each other. If you meet a lady there and want her to keep you company then a drink is customary for them to accompany you. Lady drink means beer or a well drink. Nothing fancy as we’re taking a huge haircut on drink prices to keep the ladies coming back to draw in customers.
Good luck with the place.

If the owner of this bar has done with the authorities as he's claimed he's done, this could be one new and exciting hybrid bar in Phnom Penh that hopefully catches on. Sounds like everyone is a winner with this setup.

Except anyone who pays to talk to a prostitute, who is by definition a loser.
Unless
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/1974 ... e-of-mensa“Well, I heard of this young girl. Eighteen years old. A Vassar student. For a price, she’ll come over and discuss any subject—Proust, Yeats, anthropology. Exchange of ideas. You see what I’m driving at?”
“Not exactly.”
“I mean, my wife is great, don’t get me wrong. But she won’t discuss Pound with me. Or Eliot. I didn’t know that when I married her. See, I need a woman who’s mentally stimulating, Kaiser. And I’m willing to pay for it. I don’t want an involvement—I want a quick intellectual experience, then I want the girl to leave. Christ, Kaiser, I’m a happily married man.”
“How long has this been going on?”
“Six months. Whenever I have that craving, I call Flossie. She’s a madam, with a master’s in Comparative Lit. She sends me over an intellectual, see?”

Christ, judgmental much? Pray tell us what dictionary you found this definition in.
Re: Floozys Freelancer Bar on 172
Hahaha, brings back memories. Ages ago an acquaintance of mine (friend-of-a-friend) was the son of a father with a "hostess bar", in Western Europe. I would sometimes visit the place with him and others to drink free beers. Classic setup with the feet of dancing ladies/stage at bar level next to your drinks. Separate bar to talk with the ladies.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 10:18 pm What is this "Lady Drink" that costs $4 anyway? A Mojito? Baileys? A B52? A Spy? Some tap water with a dribble of Coca Cola thrown in so it looks like a real drink?
Their business model was that drinks like beers were double/triple the price as in a regular bar, and when the ladies were offered a drink they would always order a "piccolo" or glass of champage. The bottle would contain something bubbly-non-alcoholic-not-champagne, but would get billed as champagne.

The thread’s worked for me! Now on my list for my trip in a fortnight’s time, and it’s close to my hotel.
