Downstairs at Oscar

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Downstairs at Oscar

I am thrilled to announce that from Wednesday, May 1 - I will be taking over the management of the bar to be called - “Downstairs at Oscar” on street 104.

Ric will be behind the bar, some of you will remember him from The Glory Hole.
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

I have fond memories of the original Oscar. Great little bar and it used to amaze me how they somehow squeezed a band in there.

When they took over the Colonial bar upstairs (sign said Colonail lol) that was a great move imo...a lot more space for the live music and customers concerned. However... the original Oscar downstairs minus the band went downhill and never seemed to be busy.

I think a new, dedicated management can return this place to it's former glory.. all the best.
