Bar girl scam??? someone help

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Haha, I was warned about this scam before heading to the Philippines recently.

It was so regulated there, which in my opinion isn't a bad thing really.

Every girl had an easy to read ID card with their name and age, and even a medical card, LoL. I wouldn't put much faith in that medical card, but it's a good idea.

Anyways, it's on YOU to be certain of someone's age before taking them home, so if you're not convinced, then don't invite them to your room.

That said, I've never heard of anything like that in Cambodia. Do you have more details?

1000$ bribe is cheap! Count your lucky stars.

How to avoid? #1 Don't take children back to your room. #2 Ask to see her ID.
And only a fucking moron thinks otherwise - we don't always agree but you've nailed it this time.

Why do the girls do that? To get money from the men. They can get more money in one night that way than working a whole month or more working a regular job there.

Stop being such an ass. I enjoy her posts much more than your usual condescending posts. This forum should be encouraging more locals to post, especially women.

Just out of interest, why?

It is an expat forum after all. I don't really care who posts just so long as we don't get into those OTF type arguments too often which I find incredibly boring. Even when I'm involved.

So, why did you make that statement?

My main concern is people being honest about the things they report or say. I can't stand all that bullshit on TOF around certain topics. It's just plain lies most of the time and doesn't help anybody trying to understand Cambodia or Cambodians.

I do find that the Cambodians on here can be very obstructive at times and outright lie about things at others. That's not helping anything but the idea they wish to push on us about their country and not the reality of it. I think most of what Phucket posts on OTOH is spot on, mostly.

I can definitely see the benefit of honest locals joining CEO, but when was the last time you met one of those? :stir: :D

However, I do find that both our regular Cambodian posters here (that I know about) have been posting interesting stuff lately. :thumb:

And I would love to get their warts-n-all view of things about their country, even if it is just seconding the things some posters write.

If they know it to be true - back it up.
If they know it to be false - deny it and give the reasons why, so we can get into an interesting debate.
