Angry Birds Bar

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Bloody hell! I've spent plenty of money on booze and had some great nights out, but those figures are just crazy! Please tell me that included the costs of food and female companionship at least, or are your friends just showboats who like to buy Dom P and Hennessy Paradis Imperial! Can't really compare Qatar and Dubai to Thailand when spending money on booze though.

1x beer in Qatar/Dubai = USD$10 (minimum), wine/spirits are ridiculously expensive
1x beer in Thailand = USD$2 (+/-), wine/spirits cheap
The expense in Qatar were down to being imprisoned in a hotel during Eid... room service or get fucked. We decided to get drunk instead... beer, wine and spirits were had.

My friends were on The Times newspaper's expense account which apparently is boundless. Yup, Hennessy, Crystal, etc. were all to hit the table. Heck, they even spent the best part of $1,000 on 5 cigars and snifters to accompany them. No idea if they actually managed to claim it back... don't really care either.

I went to Angry Birds Bar in November 2017. Consumed a few beers myself, then feeling generous I rang the bell. At this point I'm feeling really good about myself and enjoying the company of the girls. I forget how much my tab was, but as you can imagine it was quite substantial. For my generosity, I was then offered a free bottle of Beer, but I explained I had to go and meet my friend at Loco Bar in 5 minutes, but I would return later. ! hour later I returned and to my horror I was informed I no longer qualified for my free beer, as I had left the Bar and I was now considered to be a new customer. One girl even told me she had never seen me before. Feeling shit I left immediately, never to return.

I’d say you’re wrong for expecting to accrue the free beer, leave for an hour, and return and claim it later. You earned the free beer, they offered it, you declined, you paid the bill and left. That ends the bar’s obligation to you.

And of course, the girls were wrong from a customer service standpoint not to just give you the no longer owed free beer when you came back an hour later. If the owner had been there, he surely would have given it to you.

The girls in these bars tend to see things in black and white terms, it’s hard for most of them to correctly exercise discretion in unexpected grey areas when it comes to customers requesting free stuff to which they aren’t absolutely entitled.

Or just take it with you. Like anyone cares if you are walking 104/130/136 with an open beer, let alone anywhere else in Cambodia. smdh

Sorry maybe I am " Old School " I don't walk around any Street in any Town/City/Country with a open Beer. I have my street cred to think about. :dragonchase: And I did not go back to Angry Birds specifically for my free beer, I went back because I liked the place.
