Angry Bird Bar

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Great place for a long term stay downtown, but you need to get in early for high season as he's usually fully booked because it's a great place to hang out and meet long stayers away from the main beach areas. He runs the Sihanoukville forum so might be worth the OP joining and enquiring directly. I've seen mention of him being full over high season already.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

he has done well because he like being a publican and offers solid values.
he likes people and is a good ally.
any single guy contemplating a longer stay in SV would find this the best soft landing because you get right into the local knowledge.
dont do shots with him but do pub crawl with him.

small market across the road and at least some of the rooms have some basic cooking facilities i think.

Tony sets a pretty good table too, just inaugurated a USA style BBQ there.

sorry to hijack OP's thread for Angry Birds
here is Tony's place in SV anyway

I was once playing Jenga with a girl in Angry Bird's Bar when out of no where another girl took a rubber band and launched one of the pieces at our play set. It knocked it all over and she jumped up and down with joy. She then shouted " Next Level, Next Level"!

Was there just a week ago after dinner and just wanted to have a beer with a friend. The waitress delivered the drinks and just stayed at the table while we were having a conversation. Then after a minute she did the emptyhanded cheers in a not really subtle way to ask for a drink. We started to feel uncomfortable at that point and she must have noticed but she just stayed at the table. We were just to polite to tell her to leave and quickly finished our drinks and left. Those Ladybars are no fun compared to the local places with beergirls and beertowers. just my 5 cent.

Such antics are learned over a very short period of time. Give me a days pay for doing nothing is the motivation. If you asked her to cook or clean house or get you a beer at home, she'd flick you a bird I'm sure.

Are you referring to PNH? I don't know much. I eat at SamDoo and the place across the street from it, both Chinese. I'm a full comp player at Naga so eat one meal there, the buffet on the casino floor. This buffet is just okay, certainly above average for PNH and better than the $2.50usd buffet some friends go to somewhere near Walkabout. Breakfast is always in room at my hotel. I don't like "French" restaurants because emphasis is on presentation, not the food. The various Khmer restaurants I've had dinner at were not worth the money. It's odd seeing your food alive just prior to eating it as seems to be the norm in same. I shop at Lucky Supermarket, the one at "Soryo" mall, the four or five story mall. The fried chicken there, up on the 3rd floor, is okay as fast food goes. Never go to Pizza Company as a complete rip off. Lastly, Chinese beer served in some of the Khmer restaurants is actually very good! Never seen it in any of the "bars" barangs visit. Lonestar is boycotted as mentioned elsewhere and I don't go to PNH for American food anyhow, plenty of that in Pattaya and Bangkok. So mate, it's gambling, women, and Chinese food I know about in PNH. Have a nice day! NCAA championship games are about to begin.

I'm taking...

Arizona plus 14 1/2 since it's raining... vs. Oregon...the game is in San Francisco.

Florida State minus 4, since it's time for them to stop smoking crack and play... vs. Georgia Tech since I think they can stop the triple option and Tech will be scared of FSU's black players. You are talking about a place where anyone can go(FSU) and one which has academic standards(Tech).

Ohio State and Wisconsin I have no opinion on. Quarterback injury makes the game difficult to pick and it may come down to turnovers. Wisconsin does have a good running back and the game is indoors.

Alabama - 14 seems like a good pick vs. Missouri but again, it comes down to turnovers with a spread this large. This game is also indoors and in Atlanta. No large wager.

Big money on Arizona and Florida State.

Sounds an Idyllic life!

Breakfast is always iffy in cambo. i think they have a real bean counter counting each and every bean in the ( unwanted) teaspoonful you are given. the jam is also a mystery as to what it is actually made out of. Apparently Facon is popular among provedores- still made from pork- so i don't get it. ersatz coffee made from maize and soy is about universal in the cheap barang eateries.
the less said about chicken breakfast sausage the better.

I like a little chinese resto called Tinat's on 51- it is quite inexpensive, though that is not the attraction for me.

About the Khmer food- agreed!

Pizza, no question Limoncello or Larry's for the Italian sausage Pizza.
