Really? It's a popular place in Battambang? I spend quite a bit of time in Battambang and haven't even heard of it. That aside, I do think that Battambang is a great place to be with a view to a long-term investment in a bar or restaurant - low rents and pre-UNESCO status feature into that thinking. But given the huge number of available units... I also think that there's very little point in buying someone else's failed restaurant too.

I think you'd be surprised, but I agree that the asking price is ridiculous.

Opening a restaurant in Battambang is piss easy, 90% of people who live there for a year or more do it.

Staying open is not as easy, especially with all the god botherers and ngo groups getting blank checks to train burger flippers.

I know this place too, worth nothing, but it doesn't hurt to try.
