In any case I've heard "ksai" frequently used and used myself with that as the proper meaning. I have never used nor heard of your rendition, but I do not for one moment doubt it. Maybe we both need to get around a little more.
Just had a talk with professor wife who told me that they mean the same thing. She did say however that Khmer frequently add "kras" after knong. Since "kras"
indicates a strong back there is again a similarity with the English 'backer.". Please note I am.exploring metaphorical relationships only, not trying for direct.translations.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Thnx. Ksai added to my dictionary, as in 'pulling strings'. Much appreciated!

You taught me as well. That is the best possible outcome of any exchange on this forum.

buying a particular business (one listed at more than 4X what it was listed for last year),
Please show me where it was advertised a year ago for under $17,000.

I would have bought it then for that.

As far as I know it was advertised by Greg for over $50k. I also know what Ronnie paid for it and it was a lot more than $20k. In fact it was not much more than he is asking now and it has a longer lease and improved financials.
I was referring to the advertisement photo by Asian Business Brokers in the first post on this thread that says bar for sale $14,500 and has a photo of Lone Star Saloon. But I now see that the ad content refers to a bar on Street 136.

Are the "6 staff included in the sale" aware that they are owned and being sold with the business?
