Chil-AXN hostel, Victory Hill,Sihanoukville: $400,000

If you are looking for a business to buy in Cambodia, you've come to the right place! This is a section where owners can post their businesses for sale and where others in the community can ask questions about starting a business here. Foreigners can own 100% of a business here in Cambodia, and it's a pretty simple process to buy or sell, whether it's a bar, restaurant, hotel, or anything else. Have questions about what paperwork is needed for your company? Ask away. Curious if the expat bar on Street 136 selling for $100,000 is a good deal? Start a discussion on CEO and we'll let you know what we think.

LoL, that's hardcore.

Off topic, but does this represent an opportunity to an enterprising young Khmer? Fixed price service there and back? Or is that level of entrepreneurship likely to give you a 'heart attack'?
He'd be beaten and chased off. There's about 4 up there, and even if you arrive on one and ask it to wait they usually end up chasing him off before you're ready to go. I now take the car as backup anytime a group of us head up there.
That level of thug-on-the-corner corruption really gives me the irrits. What's the solution to it, be a better thug?

For the tourists, a 5/7 dollars for the trip from victory hill to the top of serendipity rd in a tuk tuk ain't that bad considering it is 4.5km and not flat either.

For the expats having your own mean of transportation is an absolute necessity in SHV.

I can't see the day where Khmers will organize themselves to a semi public transport system same as in Thailand's touristic places but this would be a great improvement and well suited for the city from Otres to victory beach. If such a system was in place it might even prove more profitable with more people going down town to the market or to a farther away beach from their hotel.

oh, that was just the price to downtown... no idea what it is all the way into the beach. It's the same ride I can get from a driver who doesn't work that area for $2-3.

And having your own transport is well and good, unless you're out getting shit faced in which case it's quite dangerous.

One guy tried to do something like you're talking about. Had basically a public shuttle for cheap (couple thousand reil)... the tuktuks had him shut down in less than a week as I hear it.

Slightly off topic, and just wanting to be devils advocate, but BigJohn's profile on here has him as 'under Admin protection'.....does that mean you shouldn't be having a go, OD?

With his opening ad hominems i think he tossed his protection aside. and honestly i'm not having a go at him... i'm simply stating the facts about why i think his business if overpriced, and why his evaluation of others around town may be misguided. he frequently claims to be the victim of people poaching competition... where in reality it's a town of people mostly going around supporting their competition. i often see bar owners drinking in each others bars, etc.

Transportation in Snooky? Baht bus's like Pattaya. You would have to have an armed guard on each one for about the first couple months or until you starve out the tuk-tuk mafia and they go back to the province's to plant rice . Victory hill to the Beach would be one run and during the high season the downtown beach area to Otres would be another run.

I'm surprise some enterprising police higher up hasn't figured out the profits in this. With police backing, the tuk-tuk/moto mafia would die on the vine. There would be lots more tourist visiting a lot more business that aren't right in the tourist center, thus more $$$ spread around.

You STILL don't get it... the police here are the ones the tuktuks used to shut down the guy who started it. They're all family, old friends, or part of the "not your country" club.

Many say they have the lock on herbal intoxicants as well.
The poor quality would argue that this view is correct.
