Transfer Large sum of USD to the UK from Cambodia
Does anyone have any experience of doing this ? I know if I go through the banks they are expensive . Especially when large sum is involved .
There must be a cheaper and safe way to do this .
I have read about some online currency brokers but as I have always gone through banks thinking this is safer .
Can anyone suggest a safe and cheaper than banks way to send ones life savings back to the UK .?
Money is in USD in Cambodian bank and going to a high street UK bank .
Thanks for any ideas .

OP did you post about this a few days ago? (That post would have got lost in our server problem last weekend).
I'm sure someone replied saying something about globalfx or something like that.
Hold tight. I'm sure he will reply soon enough.

TT trsf fees of banks is 0.05%, 100,000$ is only 50$, how is that expensive?Michael2002 wrote:Does anyone have any experience of doing this ? I know if I go through the banks they are expensive . Especially when large sum is involved .

Right . I did post a few days ago but my account got lost somewhere along the lines . I think this site is having some server problems recently . My main concern is the banks taking a big slice ,,Not so much the fee but they give consistently crap exchange rates . Ok if its only a few 100 but if its a lot that really matters .,but Im unsure of the safety of using online currency brokers . Someone mentioned RFX Rational FX . But are they secure ?
Anyone have experience with online currency brokers... cutting out those bankers.

I used RationalFX to transfer $20k+ a few times about 4 years back. They sent from UK to Cambodian bank, arrived 24hrs. Well pleased!. But things change, check the latest on such companies for bad reports. http://www.forexfraud.com/forex-brokers-to-avoid.html

I take it your bank can do electronic transfer. I'm sure its probably the same process sending the other way but never done it yet.Might look to by the end of year though, let me know how you do.
Be aware, always an intermediary bank fees of about $30 each transaction to consider but for the savings on banks well worth it!

Re: Transfer Large sum of USD to the UK from Cambodia
Yes well thanks all but im still none the wiser. Are any of these online forex traders trustworthy ??? I heard Global Forex and Rational are good but has anyome used them and how do I know the repliants here are not scammers working for them . Moneysupermarkets uk are FCA authorized but when I check their reccomendations on FCA website seems they are not authorised by FCA only regulated or ...see for further information . And a load of non understandable crap for the ordinary guy comes up .
Maybe just , as much as I hate to give my hard earned cash to the banks its the only secure way to go .
