And meanwhile , back in the '' Lucky country'' the dollar has dropped to the lowest in 10 years. It must be tempting a few Ozzie's living overseas to return home .

It just reduces your beer intake a bit.........If the exchange rates effect anyone too much they probably need to return home before they end up short of a quid for a new visa.
Maybe it will rise soon and all will be well in the world again......??

Needs to drop a whole lot lower to the extent of a recession to put the market back in check, increase industry & exports.

If it dropped to that amount the price of fuel ,, mostly imported and priced in USA $,, would make it too expensive to cart stuff around the country .
Next all imports that OZ does not make would rise so much that customers would stop buying, resulting in less tax [ GST ] collected for the government. Just like a trade war,, no-one wins, in a currency war , or currency manipulating war , no-one will win.

I feel for those English chaps who moved to Thailand in 2016 when the pound was at 55baht. It's now at somewhere around 35baht, I think.

We need China to resume building ghost cities and buy more of our raw materials.
