In reality hardly any signs in chinese inside the mall. 80% stores are western and international chains, few local shops and some chinese ones. Even the mall is managed by western run company.
I stand corrected. I haven't been to the mall, but I based my comment on the video and on other photos that I have seen of the shopping area, which all featured signs in Chinese.

Do the maskless crowds in the pictures indicate that business is back and people are out and about again, just like before the pandemic? It's a very refreshing scene!

People have been out and about all through the period, there haven't been any lock-downs like other countries.

Anyone been there yet?

Is it well managed like AEON? Or the typical Khmer style mess like Olympia Mall?

Hopefully with now stuff to do, the denizens of China city will commit fewer crimes.
The FURI mall in Snooky is fairly nice as well. I imagine this will be similar.

I didn't realize that! How do the people in the region account for the lack of predicted outbreaks, considering there was no lock-down? When I consider China's reaction, a complete and total lock-down for 2 months, versus Cambodia's lack of a lock-down, it's quite amazing that both countries have been spared the troubles of Europe and North and South America. COVID remains a mystery, doesn't it.

The virus is only something that comes from abroad. A foreigner virus. Only people coming in through the airports are tested before they go, on arrival, and then 14 days later. Therefore with everyone else, no need to test. Quintessential Khmer strategy.

People die of wind in Cambodia.

Either lack of wind, or too much wind.
Then heart attack.

During the height of the virus, while Wuhan was on lockdown, flights from surrounding area of Wuhan continued to arrive in the Kingdom of Wonder. Cambodia is magical. The virus dies on arrival.

Sorry for being so tongue-in-cheek.

There probably is truth to being outside, and warm, humid weather, preventing virus spread. But there’s no way to know without mass testing.

Go to the mall and pretend you are in a normal country, forget all about how it looks like a flooded garbage-strewn version of Aleppo outside. Drink fancy coffees in a bland environment and feel sophisticated before stepping back into the swamp.
In case you are feeling home sick at least the condo prices in Snooky have similarities with property prices in Saint Tropez.

Ah, I see. In China people die of wind as well. That's why hot water is the cure to everything there. :stir: So I take it that the difference between COVID outbreak numbers around the world in many cases, like this one, amounts to testing of local populations.

I honestly don’t know. Without testing, there is no data. So can’t really know either way. But a few members of CEO have mentioned some flu that passed through in December or January. Or it could be that the air in Cambodia is magical and kills the virus just like Lysol or bleach. Only those who leave Cambodia and enter other countries have positive results. Because they are tested on arrival.

One group that is extensively tested are those on airplane flights. All traveller going to Cambodia are negative on boarding. On arrival a few test positive. 14 days later a few more test positive. The virus is getting through somewhere.
