Yeah. If only the poor could suffer 40% more I'd get an extra 2.25%.

Where's the justice there?

Succinctly put. But I would presume investors are either ignorant, or only care about one result - making money. They would prefer not to think about the ethical problems attached to it all, and they certainly don't want to be reminded of it by some socialist on an inet forum.

I hope you turn your pension down unless you know where the money was invested and it was ethical.

Don't want dirt on your hands.

Some things we have no control over. I think you'd agree, MFI investments isn't one of them.

Thanks. Your insight has changed me.

I will pull out the last of my money earning 7.5% or is it 7.75%, I need to keep up.

I will be pulling all my monies out of Cambodia within the next six months. I am probably months behind the ruling elite and Okhna's.

Better get on with it !

I wonder if it's ok to buy land and make money off that, or is that also unethical?

Buy land (from a Khmer), sell land (to barang, Chinese), spend money (car - Khmer, land - khmer etc), buy more land and build house, by Khmers.

See. Everyone wins!

How can you do that from outside Cambodia? AFAIK, the MFIs only allow investment by large sums of cash, and when you pull your money out it is by the same method. No cheques etc. Well I expect the Cambodians don't trust cheques still.
For investors outside the country I can only presume you would either have to use the investment broker in the UK you originally made the investment through, or get someone you trust to go and pick the cash up at your Prasac office, hopefully with some decent form of ID.
Genuinely interested.

Its having a Cambodian wife and kids, Knob Head!

They visit frequently to Cambodia, thats how.!

Oh and I forgot bring half a million dollars to start with. A long time ago!

We are each allowed $10,000 to bring and take out, at entry and departure.

I personally wire to my bank from Cambodia to the UK. No problem to date. There is nothing to hide. Even 7.75% interest rates are not illegal or making or losing on exchange rates.

I may wire some of it back to Cambodia after the election, but I doubt it.

I will stick to 1.25% in the UK....
