Maybe that's still the case with some small hotels catering to local customers only. Overall I'd say it starts around $250. Is receptionist really a middle class position? Local friends who are office workers in Phnom Penh earn on average $700-$800. These are people in late 20s and early 30s with almost 10 years of work experience and university education. Few who are in finance, law and IT earn $2000-$3000 even (I didn't count them in that average though).
