I've got an inside source at Oasis & they're putting a grand in the register on rainy off-season Mondays ! That's 10X what they would do a couple years ago. In the last year the owner bought another one on 130, and a 3rd on 172 - despite having big love for Naga World.

I think there are four women owners of Oasis. They bought and renovated Xanadu Bar in 136, then recently bought and lightly renovated 104 Bar in street 104. Didn't know they had a bar on 130 or 172 - which bars are those?

The real boss is one sister and then there are the twins as underlings. I forgot about 104, that's recent. She wants to get rid of the one on 172. I'll get back to you after I talk to my source. I won't get back up to PP for a week though.

It does seem strange that so many are for sale at $50k, when they allegedly make so much net profit.

Are hostess bars mainly owner managed? I've read some guys selling up because of unsociable hours, but there is enough profit there to employ a manager.

I love the for sale ads that go like this:

I'm selling my bar, for health reasons, of course. It's VERY VERY profitable! I probably clear about $5K a month, but I'll sell it right now for $10K. Better hurry, because I can't afford to run this profitable bar for more than a few more weeks. Also, you better but now, because I'm raising the sales price next week. I figure, if I can't sell it this week, surely it makes sense that someone will pay double for it next week. Better hurry, only 3 months left on the lease too.

^ The kicker is when they actually do sell the next week.

That reminds of a classic advert, for ( I think) an Italian restaurant in PP, that was actually a Vietnamese soup shop  He didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with selling a soup shop, as an Italian. In fact, I think I remember that it turned out that the guy selling it, was just a friend of the owner. It was a farce.
Did it sell???

For those who don't know: the moto is the bar owner's, and the car is owned by the CEO of Ezecom.
Really? Was sure that bike is my friends - same custom colour and everything. And his gf works there too.

You're probably right. The bar owner's bike is in much worse shape!

And, to be fair, the CEO of Ezecom says that the car is his wife's.
