This is blatant market manipulation by the brokers to help their hedge fund friends. And if the regulators are involved it shows just how corrupt the system is. These hedge funds found themselves on the wrong side of the trade and are being protected. You or I on the wrong side of the trade are simply part of "market efficiency".
Yes, if little people play by these rules, straight to jail yet the rich enjoy socialism with state support.

Peaked at 497 pre market so far overnight.
The hosedown is only working by suppression of trade and buying the depressed dip.
The moment the brakes are taken off it pops right back up.
Today will be interesting.
There is too much outcry at the manipulation to continue.

We'll see..... from the publicly available information I'm guessing that about 70% of the shares needed to settle contracts on Friday (today) could have been purchased yesterday when it dropped under $200. Now, that doesn't mean they were - as some of these hedge fund guys are so greedy/arrogant that they might have been holding off until it got under $100.

The whole episode yesterday is a disgrace. I'd encourage folks to see the two interviews the Chairman of Interactive Brokers did last night - they were disgraceful. One was for Bloomberg Radio (but you can see it online) and the other for CNBC. The woman at Bloomberg at one point was holding her arms out in exasperation.

I was involved in a business that went BK when the oil market collapsed a few years ago - no one allowed us to call a time out and redo our hedges when OPEC decided to open up the spigot. Its a disgrace this has in essence been done for hedge funds.

Thats TWY - fab work!!
I just watched that Bloomberg interview with the Chairman of Interactive Brokers, Peter Butterfly
Astonishingly brazen, and disgraceful << imo too.

It bugged me tho' that the interviewers didn't ask the crucial question - Why should the brokers and the clearing houses avoid the responsibilities of the position they occupy?
They knew the rules. They knew they were exposed in this way when they took on the job. In fact, it is a crucial part of their job.

HIs ignoring of all moral and contractual hazard is breathtaking in this bloke., and the whole industry it seems.
Hedge Funds and Wall St send little guys, and good companies, to the wall every day - by insisting that those same moral hazards and contractual risks are enforced for them.

A broker that refuses to let its customers buy certain stocks on a whim should lose its license. That failing, its customers.

If I had an account with Robin Hood, I wouldn't hesitate to leave them immediately, although I have no interest in buying GameStop. What if I want to buy another stock next week and they decide (for whatever reason) that I shouldn't? This is simply not a decision for a broker to make.

Everything on GME and EXPR, another one of their stocks, for five sessions.

Well I read it they will both go up again this trading session and possibly tomorrow.

But I'm watching closely for the pump and dump
