Hi does anyone know if you can deposit Thai baht cash into a cambodian bank

You can deposit and withdraw thai baht in most border towns at Microfinance and some banks. In PP you can keep the money in baht but you generally have to withdraw it as dollars. ACLEDA do foreign currency accounts in GBP, EURO and Thai baht, but you might have to go to head office and stamp your feet to find someone who knows about it. You can pay in baht but only draw out in usd or riel. there is a fee for putting money in which i thibnk is inline with incoming trnasfers at $10 minimu or .1% ($20 for 20,000). There is no intereston these accounts, unlike Microfinance.

this makes no sense, Understand what ur saying but the whole point of depositing a foreign currency is because u wish to keep it in that currency....You can pay in baht but only draw out in usd or riel.

i know. had the same discussion. apparently they do not hold onto foreign currency. it also means they make mobey on yourwithdrawals and deposits.
