"Charlie reimburses all atm fee's, so the cost to you is; zip, zero, nada, nuttin, mai mi."

I opened a Charles Schwab account in the US specifically for this reason, but unfortunately, it doesn't work here to get around the outrageous ATM fees in SE Asia. Charles Schwab will not charge you any fees on their end for ATM withdrawals, but the ATMs here still charge you $5 fees and just make it look like that was part of your withdrawal.

So, for example, if you want to withdraw $300 the ATM adds a $5 dollar fee so it looks like you tried to withdraw $305. And that's what will be deducted from your Schwab account.

Really? I've had all charges refunded and I take out money fifteen times a month or so. It comes all at once at the end of the month.

Which machines are you using?

Since you're not American I'm not sure about your situation. I just kept my same old PayPal account when I moved here years ago. Still works. Still linked to my bank account which was set up in America a decade ago. I get mail sent to a forwarding address which scans my mail for $15 a month. That said, there is very little mail anymore as it is all mostly digital today.

I use my Schwab card at ABA machines several times a month. No local fee and Schwab reimburses all ATM fees. ($1,000 max withdrawn per day - most ATMs are $200-$300 max per day)

Oh wow, you're totally right. I just checked my statement again and they WERE all refunded at once at the end of the month. Good news! Guess the customer service rep I talked to didn't know what he was talking about.

I talked with customer service from Paypal. I can only link european bankaccounts to my current Paypal account, not Cambodian.

They advise me to open Cambodian Paypal account with Cambodian bank account. But could not promise that I can retrieve funds from there to a Cambodian bankaccount, but I could pay with it.

They will not allow me to work with the Europian Paypal account from Cambodia, so between the lines the guy advised me a VPN server, which I already use for footbal.

Anyone new info on Paypal in Cambodia?

Somethink else for European freelancers who work for european customers: Get a Bulgarian company. It has VAT nr and id EU registration. Low tax, low costs and easy and fast to setup. Just google Bulgarian ltd.

You cannot withdraw PayPal to any Cambodian banks.

There were rumours long ago that Maybank accounts worked, but never seen any confirmation of this.
