Do you control what your girlfriend orders in restaurants because you’re paying for it?

Do any of you veto your girlfriend’s restaurant choices if she orders food that’s too expensive or too fattening or if she attempts to order more food than you know she’ll eat?

I’m just curious. Not that the thought has ever crossed my mind. Of course not.

long ago when i would engage these pursuits, i would simply not order and eat what she left behind which was most of it, was fine for me, she was not big in stature but had a never ending craving for food which she wouldnt then eat. wasnt expensive just saw it as a waste

No way. In fact I wish she would exhibit a bit more culinary adventure and stop lamenting over the price.

Ha ha well if we are eating at a western joint I usually would make suggestions based on what I think she would like as she can get bamboozled with what is there. maybe subconsciously I dont suggest the 15$ steak :whip: but usually I don't care so much I dont go to too many fancy places so everything is reasonable price. i would never tell her off for ordering soemething a bit fatty though. I may be nearly the same age as Brad Pitt but I sure as shit dont look as good as him :plus1:

I vetoed a few appetizers (when I knew I couldn't take them home). No need to get 2 expensive things you won't eat. And I never care what she orders for a meal, as I know I'll end up with it, so I often change what I was gonna order.

But in general, I'm glad to see anything and everything being ordered, as it will be my breakfast, or midnight snack, LoL.

The missus likes (almost) everything and usually it is me that orders too much. So, no I do not control what she orders.

If it's a place that looks like it will do a good steak, I usually recommend she gets it because she loves a good steak but often doesn't want to spend the money.

Then, if she complains when about me spending too much on beer in the following week, I can remind her the $25 steak I paid for is probably double what I just spent on beer.

I usually told my girlfriends what the budget was before going to the restaurant and they understood.
I like girls who are low maintenance and have a great personality, they'll be happy with anything.

some years ago i took 2 skinny 20 something waitress girls out for dinner.
i ordered one steak and 2 plates for them.
they were horrified at the huge lump of beef, but they managed to eat the lot.

Just tried the new Black Angus in snooky, don't bother, the missus cringed at the prices but ended up ordering a $26 T-bone because I insisted she eat something from the restaurant and not a food cart outside
