WTB: window stay / window locker
WTB: window stay / window locker
For my new wooden house in the boonies I need lockers which will prevent the windows from flapping around when opened. Of course nothing to be found here. Any leads to these in Phnom Penh?

Re: WTB: window stay / window locker
Went to the hardwareshop. Decent collection but most from the catalogs. Actual stock is very, very limited. Prices are insane. 31.50 USD for a part I pay EUR 13,80 for back home. And that much lower price includes 21% VAT as well.
Buying abroad and shipping in with DHL is cheaper than buying locally. That kind of sums it up I guess. Since the box with DHL can be filled up with some goodies from home I will go for that option.

Failed too. Ordered abroad and will fly them in. Thanks for the leads, much appreciated!

Problems with getting the finer finishing niceties here, they simply don't have, or your/and they are subject to the importers fees and tax. I tend to start thinking about an improvised situation. Such example has a length of small box section metal, it's something that is here, and plenty of at a cheap price.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

To be honest, I don't get it. I buy stuff abroad, and it includes 21% VAT. I pay 13,80 per piece. To pay $ 31.50 for the same while Cambodia's VAT is less than 10% is weird to put it mildly.AndyKK wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 8:07 pmProblems with getting the finer finishing niceties here, they simply don't have, or your/and they are subject to the importers fees and tax. I know there's all kind of extras like import tax and transport but being an importer myself I can assure you those costs don't raise the price with 250%. It either the small market here, the inefficient way it all works, or both. Or more.
