Not sure what you're getting at here. Irrespective of bars, there is plenty to do here. What is there to do in Thailand that one cant do in Cambodia for example. I realise that your preference is Phuket whereas mine is Phnom Penh.Just interested.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2017 3:03 pm that will last ya a least a year>...but than what??
Note i dont drink or enjoy bar, so without a job, not much else to do in Cambodia

Re: Is it Worth It?
Exactly.
@OP Which is why you need to come to Cambodia and see for yourself if it will work for you - Thailand is not the other side of the world - you can always change your mind.
All you will get here on the forum are other people's perceptions. One person's heaven is another person's hell. Same with living on $1000 a month - good for some, impossible for others.
Example. I do not want to live in either Phnom Penh or Phuket (or Kep ). Doesn't mean they are shitholes, just not good for me.
I have no idea what "worth it" means to you. Depends on what you are giving up I expect.

NJH came here for a new start. Now that he left there is room for another vlogger.
Re: Is it Worth It?
You're evading the question You stated that besides bars and if you don't have a job there's not much else to do in Cambodia. That is what I was questioning. I have lived here over 20 years and I would say there is plenty to do here. I spent a lot of time in Thailand including working and I am not knocking the place, there is or was plenty to do there as well, and I really enjoyed my time there. I can understand that you have a preference for Thailand but found it strange that besides visiting here regularly you think there is nothing to do, especially when you seem to get around quite a bit!phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2017 3:24 pmGood question;Kuroneko wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2017 2:31 pmNot sure what you're getting at here. I really don't like Thailand myself either. Different strokes for different folks.

Re: Is it Worth It?
Living in Kep is only for those comfortable with their own company, there's not even a bar there as far as I could tell. Do they have an ATM, was it just the one? I suppose you could hang around the crab market but when I went they didn't have any crab and the food was vastly overpriced and nothing special. Even Kampot is a bit too small and rustic for me.
